Got Questions? We Have Answers!

What can I expect on my first visit as a new patient?

During your appointment, you will be asked about your oral health history, general health and any medical conditions that could affect your teeth and gums. An examination will be performed to identify conditions such as tooth decay, periodontal disease and oral cancer. You can ask any questions you have about your oral health.

You may receive a teeth cleaning during your first visit, or we may recommend scheduling that for a follow-up visit, depending on the condition of your teeth and gums.

Expect your first appointment to take one to one and a half hours.

Are your Tustin / Santa Ana dentists certified and licensed?

Yes, LifeTime Smiles of OC’s dentists, hygienists and dental assistants are certified and fully licensed in the state of California.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept most PPO and Indemnity Plans.  We also treat Union members.  Call our office to see if your plan or Union is accepted.

Can I schedule an appointment just for a cleaning?

All teeth cleanings are preceded by an exam to ascertain your oral health status. Once we have a better idea of your oral health, one of our hygienist can perform the cleaning.

Are x-rays necessary?

Yes, dental X-rays are the only way to look at the underlying structures of the mouth that a visual exam can miss. This includes the areas between the teeth, under the gums and the bone supporting the teeth. X-rays allow us to detect signs of many dental disease and conditions sooner than we could with a visual examination alone.

Do you treat children?

Yes, our team welcomes children.

Are you accepting new patients?

Always. As a new patient at LifeTime Smiles of OC, your first appointment will include a comprehensive exam, X-rays and a consultation with your office manager. They will answer all your questions, as well as go over your suggested treatment plan, pricing options and will help you schedule any future appointments.

Do you help patients who don’t have insurance and no credit?

Yes. LifeTime Smiles of OC strive to make dental care available to everyone. We offer financing options for your convenience, like CareCredit.

Do you offer emergency services?

If you suffer a non-life-threatening dental emergency, please contact us as soon as possible so you can be seen the very same day. For any life-threatening emergency, please call 911.

I’m pregnant but need to come in for treatment. What can I do?

You are welcome to visit our office for treatment. Although we won’t take X-rays during your visit, we can probably treat your dental needs, as most procedures and treatments are safe for expectant mothers. We ask that you obtain a release form from your doctor indicating clearance to visit a dental office.

How often should you visit the dentist?

We recommend most patients visit us for an exam and cleaning at least every six months. If you have complex dental needs, you might need to see us more frequently. At your initial appointment, we can recommend how often to book your appointments.
