In addition to working here at LTSOC, Dr. Shawn also has part-time faculty status at UCLA. She helps oversee dental students as they offer all aspects of pediatric dental care at elementary and Jr high schools, in underserved communities throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Dr. Shawn herself says: “While I love seeing patients of all ages, pediatric patients hold a special place in my heart as I feel strongly no child should be without dental care.”

PERSONAL LIFE

Dr. Shawn was born and raised in the states of Nebraska and Iowa. She has three children who have all attended/attend Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana. She loves to travel, especially to New York to visit her daughter attending Fordham University. She currently lives with her family in the Corona Del Mar area of Newport Beach. When she’s not working or with her family, Dr. Shawn loves to spend her free time outdoors, going to various yoga and dance classes, and spoiling her dog Vespa.
