TYPES OF INJECTABLES
Dr. Claire is highly trained and skilled in administering the following injectable solutions:
BOTOX: As one of the most common injectables in use today, BOTOX blocks muscle contractions to help relax the appearance of forehead wrinkles, brow lines (glabellar area), and Crow’s feet around the corner of the eyes. BOTOX has also proven to effectively manage TMJ pain and minimize symptoms of migraines in a number of patients.
Juvéderm Ultra XC and Juvéderm Volbella®: The nonsurgical lip augmentation solutions known as Juvéderm Ultra XC and Volbella are injectable gels administered into the lips to create fuller, plumper lips and reduce the look of fine lines surrounding the mouth.
Juvéderm Vollure™: This HA (hyaluronic acid) dermal filler is used to soften nasolabial folds (laugh lines) for a more supple, youthful facial appearance.
IDEAL CANDIDATES
You may be a great candidate for injectable fillers if you are seeking a nonsurgical alternative to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. These concerns may include loss of facial volume and vertical lines between the brow, forehead lines, Crow’s feet around the eyes, laugh lines (between the nose and mouth), and thin or flat lips. While BOTOX is an effective option for diminishing the appearance of facial wrinkles, it has also provided relief from migraine headaches, TMJ pain, and tension in the face and jaw from bruxism (teeth grinding/clenching). In some cases, dermal fillers can help enhance the fit of denture appliances, minimize the appearance of a high lip line, and bring greater symmetry to the smile. Dr. Claire has a profound knowledge of the muscles that facilitate oral function and may incorporate injectable solutions into treatment to improve overall comfort in addition to aesthetic enhancements.
PROCEDURE TECHNIQUE
During your consultation, Dr. Claire will talk with you about your cosmetic concerns or symptoms and help you determine the ideal solution for achieving your goals. She will also plan your treatment and determine the exact locations where the filler or wrinkle relaxer should be placed. As a skilled dentist, Dr. Claire is extremely familiar with administering injections and places Juvéderm for aesthetics and BOTOX for TMJ, migraines, and wrinkle treatments in the most comfortable and effective manner possible.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Facial injectables are placed within the comfort of our state-of-the-art treatment rooms and generally take less than 15 minutes to administer. Though you may experience slight bruising or swelling around the injection sites, these symptoms should subside within a few days. BOTOX and Juvéderm typically carry little downtime, if any, and the results of these treatments may be noticeable shortly after your visit. Results may last for up to four months with BOTOX and between 4 – 6 months with Juvéderm dermal fillers. Dr. Claire can help you determine if touch-up sessions may be needed to maintain your treatment outcomes.
INSURANCE COVERAGE
The use of dermal fillers and injectables are largely aesthetic-based. In some instances, such as when using BOTOX for migraines or TMJ pain, a portion of the treatment may be covered by insurance. Our team at LifeTime Smiles of OC will work closely with you to find a convenient payment solution that helps you achieve your oral health and cosmetic goals.
